Mastrad 27oz Gourmet Silicone Steamer Review

May 13th, 2012

We love fresh veggies around here. We used to eat them occassionally that was before we got the opportunity to try the Mastrad Silicone Steamer now we eat them almost every night. I could never get them quite right, they were either too hard or too mushy. Now they are perfect. I think this may be my favorite review so far. I use this thing almost everyday. You can steam anything you want in it, veggies, fish, shrimp, it even can be used as an 8 inch cake pan.  I can’t wait to steam some fresh veggies from the garden this summer. It can go in the oven or the microwave and it is super easy to clean. I recevied the black one, but it comes in a bunch of cool colors, so you can try and match it to you other dishes if you want to :)

The Mastrad microwaveable oval silicone steamer cooks your food in its own juice, no water or oils required. The steamer preserves essential vitamins and minerals, cooking fish, chicken, without drying and keeping your meats tender. It really is a great product. I definitely think you should head to the website and check it out, they have a ton of other things I would love to try. If anyone wants to get me a gift, shop on the Mastrad Site…haha

ZeroWater Ten Cup Pitcher Review/Giveaway

April 23rd, 2012

With today being Earth Day I am very excitied to tell you about my latest review. We were so happy to try the ZeroWater Ten cup pitcher. The pitcher comes with a tester, it lets you know the amount of TDS (total disolved solids) are in you water. The meter also lets you know when it’s time to replace the filter. It is very easy to use, I was actually really curious about the levels in my water.
I was shocked when I tested our well water, and the bottled water I buy for Collin. The bottle water tested the highest. I still can’t believe that! This pitcher filters everything out and the levels of TDS are ZERO. I didn’t think I would have tasted much of a difference in the water, but I absolutely do. It tastes awesome. I am going to actually stop buying bottled water and just use this pitcher. Which is why I am bringing this review to you on Eath Day. It is one of the changes we are going to be making around here, buying less bottles of water and  getting reuseable bottles for our yummy filtered water. This pitcher is the perfect size, fits in the fridge great and even has one of those spouts, so you can just press the button to get a drink. Love that! The ZeroWater filtration system combines FIVE sophisticated technologies that work together to remove virtually all dissolved solids from your tap water, delivering you great tasting water. This 10-cup system  even comes with a guarantee to remove virtually all dissolved solids from your tap water. If you are trying to do things a little greener, or just want great tasting water, this pitcher is great. I definitely think it is worth the money. ZeroWater was even recognized on the Today Show for out performing it’s competitors.

ZeroWater is so awesome they are offering another ten cup pitcher to one of my lucky readers. Just enter the contest below :)  They also want to offer to you $15 off a 10-Cup pitcher when you purchase one at http://www.zerowater.com Just use promo code: blog15 at check out. If you are able to donate to our team, even just a few dollars, we would really appreciate it!!!!

TruKid Review/Giveaway

April 15th, 2012

If you visit me often enough, I am sure you have heard about my son’s dry and rashy skin. That’s why I was so excited to try out some products from TruKid. All of the products TruKid sells are all natural, which is great for any kid, but especially ones with sensitive skin. We were fortunate enough to test out the Cool Conditioner. It worked great, his hair was super soft and shiny and it smells good too! Cool conditioner is great for sensitive skin and is lightly scented with a citrus essential oil blend, this all-natural formula is the perfect follow up to TruKid Silly Shampoo.
We also got to test out the Sunny Days Face and Body Stick, now that the weather is getting nice again, we have been going out a lot more, and since my son has inherited my very, very pale skin, I am always worried he is going to burn. This sunscreen goes on easy and is not greasy, I also liked that it is a small stick, so it is easy to take to the playground. I hate feeling like I have to lug the whole house with me, just to go out for a little bit, so it’s great that it fits in my pocket. TruKid Sunny Days contains no chemicals, is waterproof and SPF 30….It really is a great choice for making sure your little ones are safe from the suns rays!
TruKid would like to offer anyone interested in purchasing thier products a coupon code….If you spend $30 or more on the TruKid website you will receive a Dancing Detangler FREE! Just enter the coupon code: danicingmom
They also are letting me do a giveaway! You can win both of the products that I just reviewed! How cool is that? you know the drill, the contest will be below, enter to win and good luck!!!!

Mohawk Home Doormat Review/Giveaway

April 14th, 2012

I was so excited when I got this doormat in the mail. It makes my front porch look so pretty, just in time for Spring! Not only that, it is heavy duty and helps clean your shoes, without the doormat ending up looking disgusting. Mohawk Home definielty knows what makes a great product! If that weren’t enough, the door mats are made from recycled rubber. I know I have told you in the past that I am not the greenest person on the planet, but I am trying, everyday I do one thing better then before! Over 215,000 tires are saved from landfills annually to make these doormats, why wouldn’t you want to buy something that is made in the USA and is better for the planet?
Here is my porch before the doormat, I did sweep it before I took the picture, but that dirt is permament. I am so happy that this mat is big enough to cover it!

The mat is super easy to clean, just shake out or hose off occassionally. I really love this product and can’t wait to buy one for the back door! Mohawk Home was very generous and is letting me do a giveaway! Catching Up

April 12th, 2012

So who would have thought I lost my job and feel more overwhelmed then when I was working. I am trying to get everything done, deal with all the things I let go while I was working, take care of a toddler, do school work. Oh and blog…So crazy!!!! My brand new computer, literally only a month and half old, stopped working. I had to have the hard drive replaced. So that has put my blogging on the back burner for a few days…but good news I am back, and I have tons of new things to review and a bunch of great giveaways too!!!
I am currently getting hit by the toddler with a dog toy, I think I may scream, but I am just going to keep typing. I took said toddler to the dentist 2 weeks ago. I figured he would throw a fit, so I took him to a pediatric dentist, figuring they would be able to deal with a kicking, screaming, angry little boy. Well guess what? He sat in the chair all by himself, didn’t cry, he let them clean his teeth, check for cavities and flouride them…really??? the kid who thought the Easter bunny was a monster…liked the dentist?? I mean I am not complaining, I’m still just in shock! At least one thing this month went easy.

Goat Haus Dairy Lip Balm Review/Giveaway

April 3rd, 2012

I have to be honest. I love lip products. I have a whole drawer of lipbalm, lipgloss, chapstick and lipstick, even lip plumper, haha. Everywhere I go I have to buy something new. I think it just makes me feel better, with something on my lips, more put together maybe, especially when I don’t have time for actual make-up. My son even loves his chapstick. But I had no idea what lip balm could really feel like until I found Goat Haus Dairy’s Lip Balm. It is amazing! It really is the smoothest and silkiest lip balm I have ever tried.

Goat Haus Dairy is family owned and operated and located in Bryan, Texas. Yes, Bryan like the hubby’s name, I thought that was pretty cool ;) but even cooler is that their products are made from scratch with special care and processing. Besides lip balm, Goat Haus Dairy makes Lotions, Body Butter, Body Scrubs, Milk Baths, Foot cream and even Candles! A lot of the products they make contain fresh goats milk collected daily from their goats. I began researching products made with goats milk, thinking maybe it would be a good change for Collin’s sensitive skin. If the lipgloss is any indicator of the quality of thier products. I am definitely sold!
Go to the website and take a look around, you can even see pics of the goats!

Back to the lip balm, it comes in a bunch of yummy scents, I was lucky enough to try out the Angel Kisses and Cherry. Both are fabulous. If that weren’t enough, the wonderful owner of Goat Haus Dairy is letting me give away lip balms to 10 lucky winners!!! How awesome is that? The lucky winners can choose either frosty mint, sugar kisses or plain. Enter Below and Good Luck! One Lip Balm per person :)

Wooly Rounds Review/Giveaway

March 30th, 2012

There are so many reasons why I wanted to review Wooly Rounds dryer balls. The first reason is my son, he has the world’s most sensitive skin, if a dryer sheet even touches his clothes he is a rashy mess. Next is I am always trying to live my life a little greener, I know I am not the best at it, but little changes here and there have to add up, right? Third is money, does anyone else hate spending money on a box of dryer sheets? I know it drives me nuts! I would much rather have a few candy bars or a new magazine to read :) Well Wooly Rounds was able to solve all these issues for me, they are safe for Collin’s skin, and now his clothes aren’t full of static, they do not contain any harmful chemicals, and they last a long time, unlike the dryer sheets, which I feel like I was buying every other week. I do hate using the dryer all the time, but because of allergy season it is impossible to dry anything outside, there is so much pollen this year! But Wooly Rounds makes me feel a little better about the dryer use by helping cut the drying time down by 10-25%. I was really surprised when I did a load of Collin’s laundry, it seemed to be dry in no time and static free, these are such a great idea, I wish I had tried them years ago!

Each Wooly Round wool dryer ball is made individually by hand using 100% local, lanolin-rich wool. They are a safe, durable, high-quality wool dryer ball is crafted in midcoast Maine. Each one is approximately the size of a tennis ball, ~9 inches in circumference and weighs ~ 2oz.

Wool is used because of its incredible properties including the ability to:
•help reduce static – wool fibers can absorb static cling
•naturally soften clothes due to the friction of the balls against the fabric
•makes clothes fresher and smell cleaner – since wool has the ability to absorb toxins and odors

The people at Wooly Rounds were so kind that they are letting me give away a set of 3 dryer balls….so please enter below~ and good luck!
